Step inside the huge art museum without queuing and discover a collection of more than 5,500 works of art.

Inaugurated in 1995 and designed by the architect Richard Meier, the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art will allow you to discover the path taken by contemporary artistic creation from the 1950s to the present day. You will be able to find from samples of European material painting and pop art, through the avant-garde movements that shook the 60s and 70s, to the new creative proposals of the 21st century.

MACBA is committed to culture and promotes the access of all groups to contemporary art with different resources that can be adapted to the different needs of the public. Understanding diversity as an element of learning, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona tries to bring everyone together to enjoy its spaces, activities and experiences.

The museum with integrated Wi-Fi also has a team of educators available to help you if you have any questions during your visit. They will be able to provide you with information about the works on display and commentary on the exhibitions.

In addition to the museum there is a library with a variety of books, all very interesting. What I did was to dedicate a full day to the museum and another day I sat down to look at all the content of the books.

The best thing about this experience is that if you don't have enough time or you want to leave, that's fine. You have the option of going another day to finish seeing the works of art or enjoy other exhibitions.
