Discover Belfast's turbulent past with this guided tour of approximately 2.5 hours through the historic city centre . Explore the narrow streets of the city in small groups of around 20 people and together with a local guide discover the history and life of Belfast during The Troubles. Visit 8 sites in the city centre where tragic events took place, hear the personal stories of those who lived through them and see how the city has changed as a result of the peace and reconciliation agreement.

Your tour will begin with a brief introduction to Irish and British history and the 800 years of history that led to the birth of the Troubles in the 1960s. Your guide will give you a detailed history of what happened, why, and how it affected the daily lives of the people of Belfast.

Starting at Belfast City Hall and ending by the River Lagan, you will visit a total of 7 locations in the city centre where the main catastrophic events of the conflict took place. You will pass through Donegall Place, Belfast's main shopping street, and here you will learn the story behind the bomb attack on one of its nightclubs in 1971.

You'll also walk along Castle Lane, Ann Street and St Anne's Cathedral Quarter in the heart of Belfast as you hear the stories of the people involved and how it affected their daily lives. Let yourself be transported back in time by the detailed narration of your local guide and finish the tour by learning how far the city has come since the ceasefires and the Peace Process .
