Here I have made a selection of the best options for getting from the airport to the centre of Valencia. You will see that there are many ways to make this short journey, as the airport is very well connected. Whether you choose public transport or a private transfer, always remember that some options are more practical than others, depending on whether you are travelling with lots of luggage or with a large family group. As in other cities around the world, if what you want is a luxury service, completely private, fast and safe, what I recommend when you arrive at Valencia airport is to opt for a premium transfer. This is an excellent option for getting to your hotel with no surprises. In approximately 30 minutes, depending on traffic, you will be in the city centre.

These are specially equipped vehicles, taxis or mini vans that will take you in comfort. The driver will be waiting for you at the door with a sign with your name on it. By opting for this form of transfer you are guaranteed punctuality. This is the most exclusive way to get to Valencia.

This option is perfect if you plan to travel around the city and its surroundings with a rental car. You can take the route of your choice and, if you are not too tired from the flight, you can walk around a bit before arriving at your hotel. Of course, you must have a driver's licence. This is, without a doubt, a very good way to get into Valencia.

Since there are many car hire agencies in Valencia, if you have not made your reservation before travelling, you can go to any of the counters at the airport. It is a very practical option. There you can choose the vehicle you want, according to the number of people and the amount of luggage.

If, however, you decide not to rent a car, but you would still like to get to know the surroundings, you should not miss one of the best tours from Valencia, there are many options to enjoy and get to know.

As always, each option will depend on the type of trip you are making, if you have a lot of luggage or if you are travelling with children, but without a doubt, the metro is always a good ally for smaller budgets. Easy to use and inexpensive, all you have to do is go to Xátiva station, which is in the centre of Valencia.

The ticket costs approximately 4.90 euros per person, and the journey takes just 20 minutes. You can use either of the two metro lines that go to the airport. Both the red line (line 3) and the green line (line 5) will drop you off at Xátiva. Bear in mind that as it is public transport, you will have to carry your own luggage. There are usually a lot of people who choose this option, so be patient.

Of course, because of all this, it is not a very recommendable option if you are carrying a lot of luggage or if you are travelling with a large family group. Trains depart every 15 minutes

Of course, you can also make this journey on board a bus. The bus line that runs between the airport and the city is number 150. It is the cheapest option of all, with a ticket costing from 1.45 euros per person. As there are not too many intermediate stops (only Manises, Mislata and Quart de Poblet), you will be in the centre of Valencia in approximately 30 minutes.

If you are one of those who do not want to spend too much, this option is perfect. You will have to be patient, as the frequency is every 30 minutes on weekdays and 40 minutes on Saturdays. There is no service on Sundays. You will have to get off at Plaza España, just metres from the Central Market (Mercat Central), one of the most traditional markets in Valencia, where you can get all kinds of fresh food.

If you decide to transfer from the airport by bus, bear in mind that you will have to deal with carrying the luggage yourself, and as it is a public service it may not be as comfortable as other options.
