Step by Step
Get on a Segway and explore the streets of the centre of Palma in a fun, instructive and entertaining activity. You'll visit the historic centre of the Mallorcan capital in a small group of no more than 14 people, allowing you to enjoy a more personalised experience of the activity.
Accompanied by an expert guide, you will tour the old town of Palma and learn about the history, culture and architecture of the Balearic city . You'll hear stories about what life used to be like on the island, and visit some of the capital's most famous and beautiful buildings.
You will be able to enjoy the sights of Palma's Santa Maria Cathedral . This emblematic cathedral, which is more than 700 years old, is one of the main Gothic buildings in Spain, as well as the main religious building on the island.
You will walk through the streets of Palma's Jewish quarter, where you will hear what life was like for the island's Jews. You will learn why they were so influential in Arab times and why many of their homes are built near the Almudaina Palace, the official residence of the kings of Spain on their visits to Mallorca.
You will see the façade of the Episcopal Palace, now home to Palma' s Museum of Sacred Art . The origins of this palace date back to 1238, when it was ordered to be built by Ramón Tordella, the island's first bishop. The building is mainly Gothic in style, although it does not show a homogeneous stylistic unity, as different bishops have intervened in its aesthetics over the centuries.
Located behind the Episcopal Palace are the Almudaina walls, which were built by the Arabs and completed in 1115 as part of the city's defensive system. The walls were rebuilt up to five times throughout history, until 1873 when they were largely demolished to allow for the expansion of Palma.
At the end of the tour, you will enjoy an excellent meal, included in this tour, at the Hard Rock Café. See the rock guitars that adorn these famous restaurants and watch video clips of some of the genre's most famous bands, while enjoying traditional American food.
