Step by Step

Living in a novel is possible thanks to this literary tour through the streets of Barcelona. Thanks to this experience, you'll be able to discover spectacular places in the Catalan capital with a professional guide while you relive the action of "The Shadow of the Wind".

This tour for groups of around 15 people will take you through the main scenes of the award-winning novel by Carlos Ruiz Zafón. The tour will take you through such well-known and mythical places as the Paseo de la Rambla, passing by other hidden treasures such as the Carrer de l'Argenteria.

The thematic route of this mystery novel will also take you through Barcelona's Plaza Real, located in the city's Gothic Quarter and adjacent to the Rambla. This space, twinned with Mexico's Plaza de Garibaldi, was designed by the architect Daniel Molina and has lampposts designed by Antonio Gaudí.

Religious sites are also part of this route. This is the case of the Basilica of Santa Maria del Mar, a 14th-century church listed as an Asset of Cultural Interest, where you can enjoy Gothic architecture. You'll also pass by the Church of Santa Ana, a former monastery with a cloister and chapterhouse located near Plaça de Catalunya.

In addition to these fantastic places, there is the legendary Els 4Gats. It is a café with more than 100 years of history. Throughout its history, many artists of the stature of Pablo Picasso have met within its walls. As a result, it has become one of the main centres of Modernisme in Barcelona.

You could tell that the guide was very enthusiastic about his work, we even managed to chat about other books by the author. It was a very nice experience and meeting someone so passionate about books is always nice.

It was quite good, I have to admit that I got several surprises from this tour. I highly recommend it, although the duration is perhaps not long enough, one is left wanting a little more.
