Step by Step

This guided tour of Bordeaux will take you through the historic city centre with a professional guide, who will enlighten you on the culture and tradition of the region, while visiting iconic sites that are a must for tourists.

You will experience a walking tour of approximately two hours through the elegant and timeless streets of Bordeaux, a wine metropolis where classical art meets modern architecture.

You will have the opportunity to explore representative sites of the city, such as the following:

  • Place de la Bourse: designed by the renowned architect Ange-Jacques Gabriel, it is one of the most beautiful squares in Bordeaux, an icon of the French classical style characteristic of the 18th century. Its fountain creates a misty effect and a mirror of water on the ground.
  • Sante-Catherine Street: a busy traditional street of the city, famous for its wide range of shops of all kinds, perfect for shopping, having a drink or tasting the exquisite local gastronomy, which you can experience in several bars and restaurants.
  • Grand Théâtre: built in the 18th century, the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux is one of the emblems of the city, erected on the site of an ancient Roman temple. Its neoclassical architecture, with its imposing columns, is an ideal spot for a photo opportunity.
  • Monument to the Girondins: see the sculpture that honours the martyrs of the French Revolution, located in the impressive Quinconces square, where you will see the 43-metre-high structure, crowned at the top by the statue symbolising liberty.

As well as taking in the beauty of Bordeaux' s monuments and sites, you will discover the wonderful history of Bordeaux as you pass the sites where history was written, which will be recounted by your private guide.
