Police dramas and specifically investigations that attempt to uncover crimes are a huge part of American culture and this can be seen throughout television and film. At the same time, one of the best ways to entertain yourself in the evening when visiting the city of St. Louis is to participate in a dinner party in which all the guests try to discover the culprit of a fictitious crime. This while that same character is in the room.

This type of activity is a good plan because it offers you entertainment for about three hours and you can perfectly enjoy it after sunset. That is, after you have been enjoying some of the best tours in San Luis. These allow you to explore the city sightseeing without making time for a themed dinner a bad logistical decision.

Please note that the dinner usually consists of a full four-course banquet and is also usually a one-time fee of around 70 euros per person and is available to participants of all ages.

For this reason, if paranormal themes are of interest to you, you can't miss the opportunity to participate in a walking tour of the haunted neighbourhood of Lemp.

These tours usually give you the opportunity to explore the neighbourhood as well as visit the spooky Lemp Brewery. The brewery has a past tainted by a series of dark events that are often shared with tourists when they choose to participate in this type of tour.

Please note that sometimes a transfer is offered directly from your accommodation. On others, a meeting point is set up in downtown St. Louis to get to this neighbourhood and enjoy the terrifying tour, which usually lasts about an hour and a half.

The experience of visiting this stadium is unique in the United States due to the excellent atmosphere that the fans of this team tend to give it. It is a great place to shop for team apparel and is also a great place to enjoy a privileged view of the Gateway Arch. Nightlife plans in St. Louis can also be focused on walking the streets of this beautiful city and one of the most recommended by specialists is a stroll through the Soulard neighbourhood. This place has been a very important place for the history of blues music and is characterised by its streets full of Victorian style houses in a city where this type of architecture stopped being common a long time ago.

If you visit this place you can't miss having a drink in one of the many places that offer live entertainment every night of the week. However, the best plan you could make in this place is to have a tour focused on the history of crime in the Soulard neighbourhood. This especially for the fact that you will learn a bit about the identity of this place and you will be able to understand the modernization that led to this being one of the most touristic places today in all of St. Louis.

You also have to know that touring Soulard at night is one of the best things to do in St. Louis during Christmas because of the many Christmas decorations that the residences in this important neighbourhood usually have.

There are several areas in St. Louis that are great for partying after the sun goes down, and one of these places is the Ballpark Village. Basically, it's a district that for many years was an area where St. Louis Cardinals fans would gather before and after games. But over the years it has become a tourist destination in its own right.

There are dozens of nightlife options in this part of town, but one place you shouldn't miss is the Budweiser Brew House. It's a sort of warehouse that has been converted into a commercial bar that stretches across a gigantic three-storey building. It is distinguished by the fact that its rooftop and its various terraces offer a privileged view of Busch Stadium.

You should know that the Ballpark Village is an ideal place if you're interested in enjoying a bar crawl in St. Louis. Especially if you're interested in bars that offer the best of the city's sports culture. St. Louis has one of the best baseball fan bases in the United States.

Plus, the great thing about participating in a bar crawl in Ballpark Village is that it will give you a little insight into the identity of this neighbourhood while you party in the style of the locals who made it a true destination for fun in St. Louis.

6. Enjoy a symphony orchestra at Powell Hall

Powell Hall is one of the most important concert halls within the city of St. Louis and for decades this venue has regularly hosted concerts by the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. This makes it one of the best places to enjoy after sundown, as 90% of the year there is usually a weekend event by this important musical institution at this culturally significant site in St. Louis.

Keep in mind that Powell Hall is a beautiful place from an architectural perspective and is a good place to have a drink without enjoying a concert, as it has two bars with an excellent ambience. It is located in the Grand Center District and therefore can be a good stop if you are touring this area of the city.

In fact, it is a great place to enjoy a night out in St. Louis after taking part in a sightseeing walking tour of the downtown-east side of the city. Also note that the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra is the second oldest professional orchestra in the country. In addition, the concerts at Powell Hall are specifically noted for their tributes to contemporary American music artists such as Whitney Houston and Elvis Presley.

In case your visit to the city does not coincide with a concert at Powell Hall, you should also know that other live events are often held here as well as classic film screenings and even some local festivals. Which means you'll always be able to visit if you're interested in getting to know this important part of the city's musical identity.

7. Experience the alternative party at The Grovee

Although St. Louis is a southern city located in the conservative state of Missouri, there is also the clear fact that this is a modern community as it is a fairly populated city that can even be considered cosmopolitan. In that context you would like to know that you have the opportunity to enjoy alternative parties during the night in St. Louis and one of your best options is to visit the famous club called Attitudes.

This bar is located in an area known as The Groove, which is the LGBT district par excellence in the city. Keep in mind that most of the bars in the area are only open three days a week, i.e. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. This means that you can only visit them if your trip manages to coincide with the weekend.

Either way, partying in the nightclubs in this part of town is one of the best things to do in St. Louis during the winter. Especially since it's full of indoor establishments that allow you to escape the cold and enjoy an alternative night out in a city that's more associated with typical American traditions.

8. Visit a real Spekeassy in Thaxton

Spekeassy were those speakeasies that existed throughout the United States during the prohibition era. At the same time, because they became such an important element in the culture of this country, today there are lots of establishments that are inspired by this kind of speakeasies that were the epicentre of social life during this particular decade at the beginning of the 20th century.

So one of the most interesting in St. Louis and without a doubt an excellent place to go out and enjoy a good dance and some good 1920's clothes is the Thaxton Spekeassy. It is so named because it is located in the Thaxton Historic Building, which is an establishment that stretches across two streets on Washington Avenue in downtown.

And it should be noted that to enter this place you will have to comply with a very entertaining tradition. You need to check the official Thaxton Spekeassy website to read the password and then tell it to whoever is at the entry points. This is usually a person who dresses exactly like the security guards who controlled the entrances to speakeasies during the prohibition era.

Without a doubt this place is one of the top 61 things to do in St. Louis and I recommend you to visit it on Thursdays. This is due to the fact that they almost always feature actors dressed as the patrolmen who participated in the Prohibition raids.

9. You can also visit the City Museum

Believe it or not, a visit to the City Museum of St. Louis is one of the best things to do with the whole family after sunset in this city. This is a recommended plan mainly due to the fact that the place will have a less significant influx of visitors. This means that you can tour it at your leisure on your own terms.

The second reason is that the site by its own merit is one of the most interesting museums dedicated to the history of a city in the entire United States. So it's a must-see even if you can't visit in the evening.

Please note that evening hours are only available on Fridays and Saturdays. This is why it is a recommended plan when looking for evening entertainment in St. Louis during the weekends. At least if you're looking for a moderate, family-friendly type of nightlife.

10. Stroll along the Mural Mile

If you're still thinking about finding free family entertainment plans in St. Louis to enjoy at night then you can't miss out on a tour of the Mural Mile. Basically it's a long wall created to prevent flooding of the Mississippi River that is usually repainted on Labor Day in an event called Paint St Louis.

So over the years it has become one of the best street art offerings in the entire United States and is a great place to enjoy local art while not spending a single euro to participate in the experience.

Around this site you will also find many bars and restaurants. These can be an excellent alternative to dine with your companions after you have captured photographs of the impressive artworks that are often created throughout this area of the city.
