In such a cosmopolitan city, there is no shortage of museums and attractions from other countries. One example is the Asian Art Museum, one of the most important museums of Asian art. Pier 39 is a very special place. Located on Fisherman's Wharf, it contains a lot of interesting shops and local fish restaurants. It is also home to the aquarium and the hard rock café.

But here's a surprise, you'll be able to see the sea lions that live there swimming or lounging on the pier.

The Ferry Building Market is located by the sea and is known for its many stalls selling local produce and high quality handicrafts. Did you know that the large clock tower is inspired by the Giralda in Seville?

It's a great place to stop for a drink and, as the name suggests, it's also the ferry terminal. While you're there you can take a ferry to Sausalito.

In Ghirardelli Square, located in the north of the city, you'll find something delicious. I'll tell you why: you'll find Ghirardelli, a well-known chocolate shop.

In addition to being a chocolate shop, it is also an ice cream parlour. You'll be amazed by the flavours and mixtures available. Apart from ice cream, there are many other chocolate products and sweets. It's well worth a try. If the weather is nice, go out to the square and enjoy it in the sun.

In a city with so many hills, you'd expect to find several flights of stairs. Not surprisingly, a city with as many artists as San Francisco, they have been used as works of urban art.

On 16th avenue staircase you have 163 steps finished in brightly coloured mosaic. In addition to this one, there are other decorated staircases scattered around the city. Luckily you don't have to climb them to admire the art, but they look great from the bottom - don't miss them!

There is a fun hidden attraction at Pier 39. This is Magowan's Infinite Mirror Maze. It is a psychedelic experience where you can walk freely.

Stretch out your arms and find your way to the exit while you freak out at the colours. The whole room is lit up with neon lights, making it a super cool sensory experience. Recommended for all ages.

San Francisco is not only home to giant century-old sequoias. Lesser known, but very similar in beauty, is the Eucalyptus Trail. It is the work of the artist Andy Goldsworthy.

It is a winding path completely flanked by these trees, giving it a mysterious and romantic touch.

You can find many references to oriental culture: Chinatown, the Asian art museum and I am going to tell you about a hidden gem: the tea garden.

It is located in Golden Gate Park and has existed since 1894, when it was already built as a Japanese tea house. Its ponds, pagodas and bridges will transport you to Japan for a while. An ideal place to have a cup of tea and relax.
