Charlotte will host the Copa America at Bank of America Stadium, a 75,000 capacity venue that opened in 1996 and is one of the largest capacity venues in the competition. It has also previously hosted the CONCACAF Gold Cup twice, in 2011 and 2015. For the moment, it has not been confirmed as one of the venues for the 2026 World Cup that the United States will host along with Mexico and Canada.

On the other hand, Bank of America Stadium is the home of the Carolina Panthers in the NFL and Charlotte FC since the franchise was admitted to MLS in 2022. As such, it is one of the busiest of the Copa America 2024 stadiums due to its commitment to local league teams.

What are the best locations for the Bank of America Stadium?

The Bank of America Stadium is one of the largest venues among those hosting the Copa America and has a two-tiered design. When purchasing your Copa America tickets, keep in mind that the lower tier is the closest to the stadium:

  • The lower section is the closest to the pitch and offers the best seats, in sectors 101 to 323. These seats are usually the most expensive among the traditional seats, not counting the VIP boxes and special services including food and bar.
  • The upper section of the stadium includes sections 501 to 554 and has the farthest seats, which still offer a clear view. These seats tend to be the cheapest and also the most numerous, so this is where you will have the best chance of getting tickets at much more affordable prices, even close to the match.

How to get to Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte?

Charlotte will not host group stage matches at the Bank of America Stadium but will host one of the semi-finals and the match for third place, which will be the last but one match of the 2024 edition of the Copa America. Two matches that are expected to receive a large number of spectators, so I advise you to buy your Copa America tickets as early as possible to secure your place at the event. Before purchasing, please note:

  • The America's Cup will coincide with the American summer, which is also the peak season and when you will be able to take part in the best activities in Charlotte. This will inevitably lead to a greater influx of tourists, so if you book in advance you can get better prices than last minute shopping.
  • If you're on a budget, I recommend buying the seats on the sidelines of Bank of America Stadium. From there you will have one of the best views of the stadium and you will also be closer to the players than from the upper sections.
  • If you want to save money, you can opt for the upper seats or the seats at the back of the stadium, behind the goals. As they are further away from the pitch or have a reduced view, they tend to have better prices. You will also find a larger capacity, so you may have a better chance of getting tickets for a match.
