Step by Step

Taste the must-try delicacies of Southern cuisine while learning about Atlanta's history on this culinary and historical tour of the city. You'll tour local landmarks that are part of the area's cultural identity while sampling delicacies from the most popular restaurants.

You will have the opportunity to sample a total of eight typical dishes of the local southern gastronomy, with a selection of delicious and refreshing drinks, with or without alcohol, according to your preference.

You will visit the historic Grant Park neighbourhood and park, surrounded by Victorian architecture and a wide range of legendary restaurants. There you will taste, for example, the famous fried catfish with okra and soy sauce with cucumber and wasabi; or the not-to-be-missed shrimp and grits, a southern classic.

An expert guide will reveal the most amazing facts about Atlanta, from its founding, to its cuisine, to the importance of the areas you will pass through, which also includes the large Oakland Cemetery, which spans some 35 hectares.

Closely associated with the country's Civil War victims, this cemetery is home to the remains of Atlanta's famous people, such as writer Margaret Mitchell, author of the novel Gone with the Wind. Also the American golf legend, Bobby Jones, among many others.

The gastronomic route will allow you to try, among other traditional dishes, toast with tomato jam and pork belly, handmade pretzels with sauce and accompany each delicacy with a refreshing drink, such as the pink gin and juniper berry cocktail.

Dessert is no slouch and guaranteed never to be forgotten: choose from the city's most famous chocolate chip biscuit, or the irresistible apple pie with cheddar cheese, a local must-try.

Great guide. As he walked around he told us good stories, including the fact that we were in the oldest cemetery in Atlanta. We saw graves of important people of the city that I later investigated.
