The sheer number of things to see and do in Atlanta makes it perfect for everyone, including families with young children, who can always worry that they'll get bored and not enjoy their trip.

If you're looking for things to do with the kids during your visit, here you'll find a long list of everything from educational to pure entertainment.

1. Private tour of Stranger Things locations

If the kids at home are fans of the acclaimed American series Stranger Things, this activity will make their dreams come true. With this tour, you will be able to visit the actual sets used to film the series, which are located in Atlanta. The tour also includes locations from the Upside Down, which makes the experience more complete.

The tour is private and lasts an average of 3 hours, during which a professional guide will tell you and your companions the details of interest of the sets. The guide will also reveal curiosities and stories related to the series, which happened in the same places you will visit.

As it is a private experience, you can ask the guide all the questions you have, enjoying a completely personalised experience. On the other hand, since the show is set in the 90's, you will be able to go back to that era by visiting emblematic places of the series.

You will see Hawkings High School, where the main characters of the series spend their mornings. You will also be able to enter the houses of many of the characters, such as the Wheelers', the Sinclairs' and the Hendersons'. Of course, you will visit the public swimming pool where Billy used to work.

Are you a Coca-Cola fan at home? Even if you are not, the truth is that this drink has played a very important role in international culture for more than 130 years. Your trip to Atlanta is the perfect opportunity to get to know the universe of one of the most popular soft drinks on an international level.

During your visit, you will be able to try more than 100 products belonging to the brand that you probably didn't know about. You will also have the opportunity to see the door of the safe where the mysterious and famous Coca-Cola recipe is kept. You'll learn about the history of the drink, see its most famous commercials and discover the brand's symbolism.

Finally, the entrance also features two films that tell the story of the Coca-Cola formula.

This is one of the best things to do in Atlanta in December, as it's a very cold month in the city and the facilities are covered and air-conditioned.

3. Grab an epic meal at Hard Rock Café

Most kids are a little tricky to eat and try new things. This is often one of the biggest problems when travelling with them. If you're worried about this issue, save yourself the drama by booking a menu at Atlanta's Hard Rock Café. This American chain has a menu that meets even the most demanding requirements of children.

The reservation is queue-free, so you can be seated at your table as soon as you enter the doors of the restaurant. The menu consists of two or three courses, depending on which option you choose.

You can choose from the typical Hard Rock Café burgers, sandwiches, salads or grilled meat, among many other options. The menu also includes a drink and dessert.

For children under the age of 10, there is a children's menu available that they will love. As well as enjoying the delicious food, the little ones will also have a great time with the live shows that take place in the restaurant. You'll be able to see the clothes worn by famous rock stars at their concerts, as well as signed albums and rare photographs.

If your kids are good eaters, I also recommend you take one of Atlanta's best food tours.

4. Take a trolley tour of Atlanta

Sightseeing with children is often a problem. The little ones tire more easily, which means you have to stop all the time, slowing down your itinerary. You end up losing time on your trip, so you don't get to see all the places you would like to.

That's why I think one of the best things to do with kids in Atlanta is to take a tram tour of the city. With this experience, you'll be able to see the main tourist attractions of the 'Capital of the South' without having to take a single step. While enjoying a comfortable ride on a vintage tram, you'll tour the city.

All along the way, a tour guide will explain the curiosities and history of the different sites you visit. This way, you'll be able to do some in-depth sightseeing and the little ones won't get tired.

The tour lasts an average of 90 minutes. During this time, you'll see iconic sites such as Martin Luther King Jr.'s house; the city's largest green park, known as Piedmont Park; and Mercedes Benz Stadium, where the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United teams play.

One of the major sports in Atlanta and Georgia in general is baseball. One of the biggest teams in the city is the Atlanta Braves, whose home stadium is Truist Park, which is located in Cobb County.

Without a doubt, one of the best things to do with kids in Atlanta is to go to one of the city's baseball games. You'll be able to experience American culture from the inside, feeling like you're in a movie. During the game, multiple shows are performed. In addition, fast food and drinks are served.

Considering it's an outdoor game, this is one of the best things to do in Atlanta in the summer, as the rain can play a trick on you in the winter.

This is achieved through the projection of 4k images on the walls, surround sound and a vibrant floor. Without a doubt, this is a unique experience that the youngest members of the family will enjoy immensely. It is also one of the best things to do in winter in Atlanta, as it is an indoor venue where you can protect yourself from the cold and rain.

The Atlanta Iluminarium also has an area dedicated exclusively to adults: the After Dark experience. This part takes the nightlife to the next level, where you can have a drink or enjoy the music. Admission to this area of the facility is restricted to those 21 and over.

There is also an exhibit dedicated to encouraging children's creativity. In this room of the museum, children will be able to perform their favourite pranks and activities that are normally forbidden to them, such as painting the walls to their liking.
