However, when organising your visit you'll need to take into account a whole host of relevant facts and information which I'll share with you in detail in this article, from how and where to get your tickets, the opening hours, the exhibitions available and the guided tours, everything you need to know is summarised below!

The best option

Seville Fine Arts Museum Guided Tour

With the company of an expert guide, visit the rooms of one of the best museums in Spain.

An art historian will take you on a journey through history to admire the evolution of Spanish masters and renowned international artists.

Buying this experience involves hiring the service of an expert art historian to accompany and guide you. This person will take you on a tour lasting almost 2 hours to learn about the work of painters from various schools in the historical period from the late Middle Ages to the Modern Age.

You will also learn about the most outstanding Spanish masters of the Golden Age and finally a remarkable collection framing the work of Romanticism in the early 20th century. Please note that the tour includes entrance to the museum, should you need it.

Recommended if... You are passionate about the arts or feel some kind of curiosity about the subject. A guided tour will allow you to appreciate the works in the museum not only in terms of technique but also in the historical and social context that influenced the different artists.

If you are visiting Seville with children and you want to introduce them in some way or another to the world of the arts, you should know that the Museum organises special educational activities for the youngest visitors to explain certain exhibits in a language they can understand and find attractive.

The Museum of Fine Arts of Seville is made up of a total of 14 rooms; the exhibition has a chronological order that allows the visitor to get to know the history of Spanish art; from its beginnings to the present day. This quality makes it a very complete museum where almost everyone can find something they like.

Although there is certainly a lot to see and explore inside the museum. My recommendation is that during your tour you pay special attention to the most outstanding works including: the Virgen de las Cuevas by Francisco de Zurbarán (1655); The Portrait of Jorge Manuel, El Greco (1603); Sevilla en fiestas, Bacarisas (1915); Las Cigarreras, Bilbao Martínez (1915); Las tentaciones de San Jerónimo, Valdés Leal (1657).

The museum has a space dedicated to the official shop where you can buy souvenirs of your trip to Seville or the museum as well as the institution's publications. The objects are organised according to the category to which they belong, the main ones being:

  • Publications and stationery
  • Children's objects, ranging from clothes to toys).
