The Andalusian metropolis boasts three vital things for tourists: delicious gastronomy, the scene of different civilisations and an enviable transport network. Among the many things you can see and do in Seville, the Seville to Cordoba excursion stands out.

For this type of excursion you only need one day to visit the most emblematic places such as the Alcazar, the Mosque - Cordoba Cathedral, the Jewish Quarter and Carmona, on guided tours to suit your budget.

You may prefer to visit Cordoba from Seville on your own. Although this option has the disadvantage of having to organise everything yourself and, above all, of not having a guide to explain what you are seeing, the transport system in this part of Andalusia allows you to visit and return on the same day.

Option 1: By train

In general, Spain's railway system is one of the best in Europe. So travelling by train is one of the best options, even if it tends to be a bit more expensive than using the bus.

The train journey from Seville to Cordoba takes around 45 minutes. Depending on the day, you can get deals from as little as €12, if you buy it well in advance online.

However, if you want to buy your train ticket at the ticket office at Sevilla-Santa Justa station, the approximate price is €19. It will also depend on the time you decide to buy and the category of your ticket.

Option 2: By bus

If travelling involves saving money at all costs, this option might be suitable for you.

Bus tickets can be purchased from 13 € at Seville station. While by train it takes about 45 minutes from Seville, by bus you will need about 2 hours to get to Cordoba. Even so, the bus is still the cheapest option.

Option 3: By car

Travelling in your own car gives you the flexibility to choose the timetable, the route you want and the best company. It's a worthwhile all-in-one option if you want to tour Andalusia.

The Seville-Cordoba route is very easy as you just drive straight along the A4. The journey time is approximately one and a half hours, depending on traffic.

However, when you arrive in Cordoba it is important to know that it is almost impossible to parkin the city centre, the best option is to go to a public car park.

In any case, if you want a stress-free option, with cheap prices, an expert guiding the way and the passage through the emblematic places of Cordoba without missing out on the anecdotes, the best thing to do is to take a tour.
