Menorca is natural beauty and wilderness in its purest form, and is one of those places that rewards those who dare to be adventurous. To discover the side of the island that hasn't been tamed, you'll need a kayak and snorkelling goggles.
Only then can you reach sea caves and coves otherwise inaccessible, and marvel at the treasures hidden between the cliffs and beneath the sea.

The aim of this experience is to take you to discover coves, cliffs and caves that can only be accessed by kayak. There are two different routes for this kayaking activity, and both can be done in the morning (9:30) or in the afternoon (15:30).

On the one hand, it allows you to personalise the itinerary, choosing between the caves or the Bay of Fornells and on the other hand, you can also choose a morning or afternoon timetable.

If you are seduced by the idea of paddling the crystal clear Mediterranean, you can rent a kayak to do the paddling tour on your own and at an unbeatable price. Budget won't be an excuse!
If you dare to paddle on your own, you can choose this more economical option with which you will rent the necessary equipment to go kayaking on your own: you will be provided with a life jacket, paddle and kayak and you can set sail wherever and whenever you want.
Of course, the team of local experts who will provide you with the equipment will give you the necessary indications both for paddling and for finding the best places to see the scenery or to stop for a swim and enjoy an inaccessible beach.
Although you can rent the equipment on your own, ideally you should have at least two people on this trip to make the excursion safer.
Why I like this option: going out with your own kayak without having to join a tour will give you the freedom to choose times and routes and to stop when you need a break or just find the perfect spot for a dip.
Recommended if... you fancy kayaking but are not into joining organised groups or if you are experienced enough to paddle the turquoise waters of Menorca on your own.
Where is the best place to kayak in Menorca?
This activity allows you to choose between two different routes in two of the best spots on the island.
In the itinerary through the caves, you will visit the north and south coast of the island, discovering unique places such as the Cueva de los Ingleses, Sa Torreta, an area of beautiful meadows, and the virgin beaches of Tamarells, where you can observe a vast fauna and flora under the sea with the snorkelling equipment that your instructors will provide you with.
On the Fornells Bay Itinerary, you will pass Cala Blanca, Cala Teulera, Punta de Ses Salines, Sargantana Island where you can see a watchtower built by the British during the occupation of Menorca at the beginning of the 19th century. Then you'll head to the mouth of the bay to snorkel.
Whichever route you choose, you'll finish at Cabra Salada, the beach of Fornells, to enjoy a snack and a cold drink and share with your group mates everything you've seen under the sea surface.
How to choose between the two itineraries? Both are spectacular and the cave tour is more exciting, but a bit more physically demanding. If you prefer to take a leisurely kayak trip along the coast and enjoy the sea and the sky, choose the Fornells Bay route.
Practical information: before booking
Do I need to be in good physical shape to do the excursion?
You don't need to be very fit to go kayaking, as the routes are not excessively long and don't require any particular physical effort. However, bear in mind that you'll be paddling for quite a while, but the views and the surroundings are worth it!
If you've never been kayaking before, don't worry: you'll be provided with full equipment and you'll receive a briefing before starting the experience, as well as being accompanied at all times by an expert kayaking guide.
What details you'll need to provide
The steps to book this experience are simple: indicate a date and number of participants and choose the itinerary and start time of the excursion. You will be asked for a few details (make sure you provide an email address you use) and you will be taken to the checkout page. Once you validate the payment you will receive a confirmation email.
Check that all the details are correct, and I recommend that you save the email so that you have it to hand on the day of the kayaking experience. Another option is to print the confirmation, although as this is a sea experience, it can be a bit cumbersome to have to carry around a piece of paper.

You can cancel at any time before the trip, but you will only receive a 100% refund if you cancel at least 24 hours in advance.
What happens if it rains or the weather is bad?
It is very rare to have bad weather in summer in Menorca, but if it rains or the sea is too rough it is likely that the excursion will be cancelled and you will either get your money back or you will be offered a postponed date.

Why it's worth kayaking in Menorca
You can kayak in lots of places, but Menorca is definitely the place where it's worth doing it, because of the possibility of adding visits to your trip that you wouldn't be able to access otherwise.
On the other hand, it's a perfect activity to do with the family or if you're usually looking for experiences that include some physical activity in your holiday.
It is also a particularly beautiful experience if you are interested in marine life, as you will be able to see it in all its splendour in its natural habitat on beaches and coves with very few tourists.
And finally, something that is essential in this experience is that the maximum group size is 12 people, which ensures that the instructor is always looking out for you and the activity remains interesting from start to finish.
