Step by Step

Don't miss this incredible excursion to Guadix and the Geopark of Granada. Discover for about 7 hours what was one of the oldest settlements in Spain, its mysterious cave houses and the Geopark area, one of the most geologically and palaeontologically rich locations.

These two sites are located approximately 40 minutes from the agreed departure point in Granada. The great variety of heritage, culture, history and art can be seen in the 72 sites of Geological Interest in the Geopark of Granada. The excursion includes a local guide and will be done in small groups of around 20 people.

Guadix is one of the most monumental towns in the province of Granada and has many churches and convents, remains of walls, stately homes, being the Cathedral of the Incarnation one of the most outstanding attractions. Undoubtedly, one of the most curious elements for tourists are the houses built inside the caves , which are still used as homes by many locals.

These caves have been inhabited since the Middle Ages , thanks in part to the ease of such rocky and barren terrain. Locals and visitors alike report spectacular sunsets from the caves.

On the other hand, you will visit the Granada Geopark, which covers the regions of Guadix, Baza and Huéscar, including dozens of small municipalities. It forms part of the UNESCO network of geoparks due to its geological wealth and value, and here you will find centres for dissemination such as the Castillo de Castril archaeological site and areas of geological interest such as the Gor River Valley.

Very good everything, the truth is that although it is true that it is a medium long route, it cannot be done in any other way. It deserves a day to visit everything well. I went back to the hotel tired but happy.
