Seven World Heritage Sites bear the signature of Antoni Gaudí on your tour of Barcelona and before you decide on your tickets, you'd better take a look at the opening times of Park Güell, you may decide to combine some of the attractions, in fact, that's my recommendation when you visit the park.

The dragon's staircase, better known as El Drag, opens the way to the 17 hectares of this monumental architectural communion with nature. Gaudí was undoubtedly a genius, but did you see the size of the park? To appreciate the details you have to organise your timetable. Stay with me and I'll help you plan your itinerary according to the season.

Park Güell is open from Monday to Sunday all year round. However, access for tourists is divided according to two seasons:

  • Between summer and autumn comes the high season at Park Güell. The opening hours from May 1st to October 30th are from 9:30 am to 7:30 pm.
  • Between winter and spring is the low season, when the opening hours of the guides and park staff in general are shortened. The opening hours for this period are from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm.

Important information

  • The park entrance time is strictly governed by the information on the ticket. You will have up to 30 minutes after the allocated time to enter the park. This means that if you bought your ticket for 11:00 hours, you will be able to access the facilities until 11:30 hours. Once inside, you will be able to enjoy the attractions on offer until the end of the day.
  • Park Güell is divided into two areas. The monumental area, where all the architectural attractions are located, and the forest area, 7 hectares of majestic green reserve. The entrance fee allows access to the first area. The second area is free for the general public.

If you prefer to enjoy a more relaxed plan, it is best to choose the low season, between October and November or between January and April, when there are fewer people strolling around Park Güell. This is the perfect time to make the most of your trip. Guided tours have more places available, the weather will be pleasant and the prices will be cheap.

If, on the other hand, you prefer to share the experience with a group, plan your visit between April and September, during peak season, when the colourfulGaudí' s works combine with the vibrant surroundings. Plus, you're almost guaranteed a multicultural experience as tourists come from far and wide.
