It is an ideal destination to enjoy the Mexican Caribbean and to explore part of the Mayan history with your family, couple or friends.

Among all the things to see and do in Playa del Carmen, Xcaret Park stands out. It is located in the heart of the Riviera Maya, and was originally an ancient fishing village that became a destination of choice for thousands of tourists. Not only is it recommended, but it is also a great plan for the whole family. At Xcaret Park, both children and adults will have fun and have an amazing day, as there are areas specifically adapted for the youngest members of the family.

You may think that they won't be able to enjoy the underground rivers, the beach, the lagoons and natural seawater pools because it can be dangerous, but at Xcaret Park they will have something even more special, an amazing Kids World, where they will have the option to swim in shallow cenotes that are designed for them.

No doubt they will also love the Coral Reef Aquarium, be amazed by the sea turtles, and learn about regional flora and fauna in the Butterfly Garden, the Rainforest Trail, the Living Museum of Orchids and Bromeliads and the Aviary. And you'll have to keep your eyes peeled for bats, jaguars, manatees, flamingos, monkeys and deer.

As you'll see, there are no age limitations to enjoy a day at Xcaret Park, it's a plan for the whole family. Plus, if you are travelling with children in Playa del Carmen, you can also enjoy activities such as cenotes excursions or shows, like Cirque du Soleil, that your kids will love.

Although the length of your visit depends very much on the type of visit, whether you go on your own or on an excursion, as a family, with children or as a couple, it is possible to estimate an approximate duration.

If you plan to visit Xcaret Park on an excursion, bear in mind that they usually last up to 12 hours. On the other hand, if you decide to go on your own, consider these times: you will have about 4 hours of water activities, about 2 hours more for natural attractions, and 2 hours for cultural activities, to which you will have to add some more time if you plan to see a show. All in all, it will last for a total of 8 hours.
