From a romantic dinner in the heart of the historic centre, to night-time tours of the city to explore every corner and even admire some of the city's monuments, to enjoying the opera and the city's most popular bars for drinks and food, the truth is that Verona offers a lot to do at night.

The nightlife plans are definitely some of the best things to see and do in Verona at night, not to mention the pictures you can take in the city at night, which end up being some of the most special and beautiful memories you'll have of the city.

1. Walking around the Piazza delle Erbe

The Piazza delle Erbe is located in the area that is now known as the ancient Roman forum. Around it you can see different buildings built in different periods of history, and you can also see stalls to buy souvenirs, so it is a great place to enjoy the nightlife of the city.

The square offers different places where you can have a spritz and accompany it with a good traditional aperitif. At night you will be able to see the Fontana di Madonna, which is a true symbol of the city. At the same time you will be able to see La Berlina and take many pictures in this place during the night atmosphere.

The good thing about going for a walk in this square during the night is that you enter a kind of time tunnel that takes you straight back to the 15th century. You will be impressed by the illumination of the place, so it is a good place to start one of the best tours of Verona.

Interesting details

  • Price: Strolling around the square is free, although the prices of the food and snacks you can find on your tour vary.
  • Time: The idea is that you start walking around the square in the late afternoon and early evening.
  • How to get there: You can get to the square on foot, by private car or you can use public transport.

2. Take pictures on the balcony of Juliet's House

A trip to Juliet's balcony at night is one of the most romantic things to do in the city, so after paying the entrance fee to the museum, you can go up to the first floor to find Juliet's famous balcony.

You will be able to take many pictures here, although you should know that in the summer season there are constant queues to get in, but they are not so long as to prevent you from including this visit among the best things to see and do in Verona in summer. Downstairs you'll find many people waiting to have their photo taken with Juliet's statue.

You'll love entering Juliet's house, especially because inside you'll be able to see many pieces of furniture dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries. You can see all this at night as well as during the day, but the magic of visiting this place at night, or at least at sunset, is that the atmosphere is much more romantic, ideal for a couple's plan.

Interesting details

  • Price: The price may vary according to the number of places you want to visit within the complex. The whole ticket costs approximately 6 euros, while for groups of more than fifteen people, the cost can go down to 4.50 euros. The cumulative ticket for Juliet's Tomb Museum and Juliet's House can cost up to 7 euros, and a reduced ticket can cost around 5 euros. If you have the VeronaCard, admission is included.

Among the best things you can do at night in the city, is to attend one of the popular concerts that take place in the amphitheatre of the city, which by the way, if you don't know how to visit the Arena of Verona, I recommend that before you go, you know what are the ticket prices, schedules, among other information.

Inside the Arena of Verona you can enjoy the talent of the symphony orchestra, and also delight yourself with the talent of some of the most renowned lyrical artists. Going to this kind of shows is something you have to experience when you visit Verona, especially because you will be filled with emotion watching the show, even if you are not a lover of lyrical opera.

Interesting details

  • Price: Tickets are available from 21 euros for the farthest seats, and up to 200 euros for the closest seats.
  • Opening times: The performances generally start around 21:00, while the opera season usually runs from June to August.

This is definitely a plan not to be missed if you go to Verona as a couple. It is a romantic dinner to enjoy the menu of one of the restaurants located on the banks of the Adige River.

All along the river there are different restaurants that have a wide gastronomic offer so you can choose what to have for dinner. If you want to enjoy Veronese cuisine at any time of the day, not necessarily at night, I recommend you to take one of the best gastronomic tours in Verona.

Interesting details

  • Price: The price of dinner depends on the menu in each of the restaurants on the banks of the Adige River.
  • Opening hours: You can experience this experience from 18:00 hours onwards. Many of the restaurants on the banks of the Adige River are open late.
  • How to get there: You can get to the Adige River on foot, by private car or by public transport.

One of the most incredible visits you can do at night is to go to the Castel San Pietro, a scenic spot that I would definitely recommend you to visit, especially at dusk to watch the sunset. With a fun walk and beautiful views, this is one of those activities in Verona that you can do with kids.

The castle square is the ideal place to take in some of the best views of the city. At night you can see the lights of Verona and at dusk you can enjoy the sunset. You can reach the castle by taking the funicular railway, which costs around two euros. The disadvantage of this way is that you can go up until 18:00.

You can also go up the stairs on foot. The downside of this way up is that you will have to be in good shape to avoid getting tired. But you can also drive up to the Castel. Upstairs there is a restaurant with a terrace where you can enjoy some drinks and have dinner.

Interesting details

  • Price: The funicular can cost up to 2 euros per person. You will not have to pay anything to enjoy the views at the top of the place.
  • Opening hours: Open late at night, there is even a restaurant upstairs where you can enjoy dinner and drinks.
  • How to get there: To get to the Castel you can take the funicular, but you can also get there on foot or even by car.

Strolling along this beautiful shopping street in Verona is one of the most fun things to do at night. You'll love the many shops that are open so late. Above all, it's a great place to shop in original shops and stroll among the many tourists and locals.

Via Mazzini runs from the Arena to Piazza delle Erbe, so as well as being a great place to shop and enjoy the nightlife, it's a great place to discover other nearby and equally interesting parts of the city. You can't miss the chance to indulge yourself during your evening stroll along this street.

Interesting details

  • Price: You don't have to pay to visit this place, but you will have to pay for the purchases you make in each of the shops.
  • Opening hours: You can go during the day if you want, but I recommend you to go during the night, so you can visit the shops and enjoy the different places.
  • How to get there: This street is located between the Arena di Verona and the Piazza delle Erbe, so you can walk there from either of these places.

7. Admire the Stone Bridge by moonlight

It is clear that the Ponte Pietra is one of the oldest and most interesting places in the city, which you have to visit, even if you go to Verona in 1 day. Moreover, it is an icon of the city because it comes from the Roman Verona. However, visiting it at night is an ideal plan if you want to see how the sun sets on the Veronese skyline.

Besides taking pictures on the stone bridge during the sunset moment, you should know that this bridge is loaded with history, along which it has been destroyed many times. In fact, the last time was in April 1945, when the bridge was blown up by the Germans, leaving only the first arch on the right. By 1959, the bridge was reopened.

Details of interest

  • Price: You don't need to pay anything to do this plan.
  • Time: The tour of the stone bridge is ideal to do when the sun starts to go down, to see the sunset.
  • How to get there: To get to the stone bridge, you can go by private car or you can walk there, because it is very close to some of the most touristic places of the city.

8. Browse the bars and taste the exquisite Veronese food

Continuing with the gastronomic plans to do at night in Verona, another thing you can do is to check out some of the best bars in the city. Before venturing into the city's nightlife scene, you should know that Verona has a very mature nightlife, unlike neighbouring cities such as Venice, which has a slightly more electrifying nightlife.

Verona, on the other hand, offers you wine tasting bars, annual wine fairs which are considered to be the biggest in Italy, and you can even find different live music offers in bars and nightclubs as well, but this usually happens during the weekends.

Interesting details

  • Price: The prices for enjoying nightlife in clubs depend very much on each place and its menu. Generally the entrance to the clubs is free, and what you have to pay is the consumption inside.
  • Opening hours: Generally the nightlife in bars and clubs in Verona starts around 22:30 and by midnight it is already crowded.
  • How to get there: You can get to each of the bars on foot or by private car. You can also take a night tour, which is usually done on foot or by private bus.

9. See one of the shows at the Philharmonic Theatre.

The Philharmonic Theatre is a great place where you can enjoy music in every sense of the word. You will be able to go and see some of the big shows that are very popular in Verona. It is a big theatre, but it offers you the possibility to feel very close to the artist who is performing on stage.

One thing you should know is that before going to a concert at the Philharmonic Theatre, you should make your reservation well in advance. You will be struck by the luxurious boxes and the opulence that permeates the whole place. This is one of those places you should visit both day and night.

Of course, the events and shows at the theatre take place at night, which is why one of the best things to do when the sun goes down is to enjoy the shows that this place offers. But before you go to enjoy them, I recommend you to check the available programme.

Details of interest

  • Price: Tickets to this kind of shows can cost from 40 euros per person, depending on the type of show that is being presented when you want to go.
  • Opening times: Shows can start from 19:00.
  • How to get there: You can get to the Philharmonic Theatre on foot, or by private car, taxi or public transport.

10. Go up to see the city from the Lamberti Tower when the sun goes down

One of the best places to see Verona in all its splendour at night is the Lamberti tower, which is about 84 metres high. It is in Piazza delle Erbe, and is listed as one of the tallest towers in Verona.

It will cost you about six euros to enter the Palazzo della Ragione and then you can climb to the top via the staircase, of course you also have the option of taking the lift. The reward for the climb is a wonderful view, a great atmosphere at night and incredible weather at any time of the year.

Be aware of the public opening time, although you have time to go up until around 20:00. This is one of those places you have to go in the city, even if you visit Verona in 2 days or less.

Interesting details

  • Price: It can cost around six euros to enter the tower to climb it.
  • Hours: You can climb the tower from sunset until about 20:00.
  • How to get there: To get to the tower, you have to get to Piazza delle Erbe first.
