Enjoy a skip-the-line guided tour of the impressive St. Mark's Basilica, an approximately 1-hour walk through its imposing corridors and mosaics made of pure gold.

You will enter directly inside the Basilica in the company of a small group of about 10 people and a professional guide who will explain the history of the Basilica and the surrounding masterpieces, such as the five golden domes made of gold by the most renowned artists of the time.

The most important attractions of St. Mark's Basilica are:

  • Pala d'Oro: a Byzantine gold altarpiece over 1.40 metres high and inlaid with gems such as 1300 pearls, 300 sapphires, 300 emeralds, hundreds of amethysts, rubies and topaz.
  • The Sanctuary: the place that gathers treasures collected over the centuries such as gold, glass and silver pieces. Located on the right side of the altar.
  • Museo Di San Marco: here you will find the famous work The Four Bronze Horses, Byzantine sculptures from the XII century, fragments of ancient mosaics and more.
  • Tomb of St. Mark: it was built in a crypt located under the presbytery and after the restoration of the Basilica, the crypt was opened to the public in 1889.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to capture the best pictures of the wonderful views of St. Mark's Square from the terrace of the Basilica .

At the end of the tour, you will have the option to visit the glass factory near St. Mark's Square, where you will be able to see craftsmen at work.
