Step by Step
By joining this experience you will depart from Venice by boat to visit the islands of Murano and Burano, two must-see destinations for tourists.
Murano, located right next to Venice, is world-renowned not only for its natural and architectural beauty, but especially for its fused glass artwork, which local artisans create using ancient and modern techniques.
On this tour you will see a live demonstration of how this popular art is made in Murano. You'll visit the workshop of a local artist and buy your favourite piece to take home as a souvenir.
As you walk through the cultural epicentre of the town, you'll be able to admire the monumental Byzantine-style church of Santa Maria e Donato, built in the 6th century and remodelled in the 12th, which sits on one side on the banks of the canal.
Approximately 9 km from Venice is the island of Burano, which, although smaller than Murano, also has a spectacular history. Unlike its neighbours, it is known for being the forerunner of the art of handmade lace.
If you want to discover how this beautiful art came about, you'll have some free time to visit the charming Burano Lace Museum on your own, where you'll also find a lace-making school that aims to keep the tradition alive and pass it on to the next generation.
In the village, you will have the opportunity to taste the exquisite local food (not included), among which the fish is the highlight. In its streets you will find countless ideal spots to take a photo with its colourful houses in the background.
