Step by Step

Depart from Florence and discover Montalcino, Val d'Orcia, Pienza and Montepulciano, 4 of the most famous towns in Italian Tuscany. These towns are especially known for their great wine and tasty cheese, which you will be able to taste during this tour. Specifically, this is a 1-day tour that takes about 11 hours in total. However, in just one day you will leave Florence and see a wide variety of places.

In addition, you will not only visit the cities, but you will also learn about them, as you will be accompanied by a tour guide at all times. Because of this, you will learn all about the history and traditions of each of the 4 cities. Your sense of taste will not be neglected either, as a large number of wine and cheese tastings are included.

On the one hand, there is Montalcino, which is particularly noted for a variety of wine called Brunello. Therefore, thanks to a visit to a winery, which also includes a museum inside, you will be able to savour the specific taste of this oenological variety. But the wine tasting doesn't end here, because in Montepulciano you will also have a wine tasting, in this case of the so-called 'Vino Nobile'. Finally, the cheese tasting takes place in Pienza.

Of all these towns, there is Valle d'Orcia, where you will not be able to taste any products, but where the strong point lies in another aspect. Specifically, this valley offers some of the best scenery in all of Tuscany. With beautiful meadows and a general feeling of peace. Moreover, it is in this valley that the house that Russel Crowe returns to at the end of the film Gladiator to finally rest with his family was filmed.

The highlights of the tour were the locations. The three locations provide a well rounded experience of villages of different sizes.

After a long bus ride, the views from Montalcina and Multepulciano were breathtaking. This was a great tour with excellent wine tasting; cheese tasting not so much, but great town nonetheless.
