Step by Step

Explore the darker side of Munich on this tour of the Third Reich. This is an activity that lasts around two and a half hours and in groups of around 10 people, where an expert guide will show you how the history of the Nazi period was lived in this German city.

There are several places in Munich that were linked to this dark history. The dictator Adolf Hitler named the capital of Bavaria as the capital of the Nazi party.

During this walking tour, you will learn what Hitler's rallies were like and where they took place. That's why one of the most significant stops on this tour will be at Konigsplatz. This is where the Nazi party rallies were held, and in the building just behind it, which is now the Higher Academy of Music, the Hitler Youth used to meet.

During this experience you will also learn about the White Rose resistance movement. This was a group of university students in Nazi Germany who advocated non-violent resistance against the dictatorial regime. In fact, you will visit Hofgarten where there is a monument dedicated to this movement.

You will also have time to stop by the famous Hofbräuhaus brewery , which has become the most popular brewery in Munich and one of the most famous in the world. With a history dating back to 1589, it is said that William V, Duke of Bavaria and member of the Wittelsbach family, found Munich beer so bad that he commissioned his own state brewery.
