Step by Step
This tour starts in Avignon, with hotel pick-up and drop-off, and is bound for the famous lavender fields in bloom. Due to the seasonality of the event, it can only take place between mid-June and mid-August. When booking, you can choose between two shifts: morning or afternoon. The tour includes an expert guide who will accompany you to the following places:
- Sault - Former county capital and UNESCO protected village. It is situated on the top of a hill and the slopes of the hillside are covered with lavender fields. Here you can stroll among the flowers and smell their perfume. The stage in Sault includes a visit to a lavender farm which will give you the opportunity to discover how the essential oils are extracted.
- Gordes - A beautiful medieval village perched on the top of a hill. The nerve centre is the Place Genty Pantaly, which hosts a market with traditional products. Within walking distance are the Castle, the Church of Saint Firmino and the panoramic viewpoints over the Luberon river.
- Notre-Dame de Sénanque Abbey - Built in the 12th century by Cistercian monks, it is a perfectly preserved architectural jewel. The Abbey is in the middle of a valley and is surrounded by lavender fields.
The tour is designed for small groups and includes hotel pick-up. If you prefer, you can also go to the meeting point in the centre of Avignon, which will be indicated when you book. As the tour takes place in the warmer months, we recommend you bring sun cream and/or a hat.
