Remis are private vehicles with official taxi licenses that are quite popular in Buenos Aires. It is a service similar to taxis, so just like taxis, I recommend you to get into a reliable one to avoid inconveniences.

Basically, it is a car and taxi service that is hired in an agency, so there are several companies that are quite popular to use the remis service, among them private companies such as Tienda León, Transfer Express or World Car stand out.

In fact, beyond the transfer between the airport and the city centre, this is a service that you can hire when you sign up for an excursion from Buenos Aires, for greater convenience.

Interesting details

  • Travel time: 40 to 45 minutes to get from the airport to the city centre depending on traffic.

Official taxi, the most expensive option

Another popular service at Ezeiza International Airport, as in other international airports, is the possibility of finding official taxis in the arrivals area. But in order to make use of this type of taxis you should first make sure you know which are the official Argentinean taxis. To identify them, you should know that Argentinean taxis are black and yellow.

If you don't get into a legal taxi, you run the risk of being a victim of deception or even robbery. To avoid these problems, it is advisable to take a taxi from one of the official companies operating at the airport, such as Taxi Ezeiza, Taxis Municipalidad de Ezeiza or Taxis Municipalidad de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires.

Details of interest

  • Travel time: 40 minutes from the airport to the city centre.
  • Price: The price will depend on where you are going, but you will have to pay around 21 € per taxi. I also recommend that you demand that they turn on the meter and also ask whether or not the price includes tolls.
  • Advantages of using this method: The biggest advantage is that you will go comfortably from the airport to the city centre, or vice versa, without having to make reservations.
  • How to book this transport: You do not need to make a reservation to use this service.
  • Booked if... You're on a tight schedule and didn't have time to make a reservation for a taxi or rent a car.

At Ezeiza International Airport there is no train station available to reach the city centre, however, it is still possible to get by train from this arrival station to the city centre. So, if you want to use the train service to get to your destination in the city centre, you will first have to take the 518 bus or get a taxi from the airport to the Ezeiza Train Station.

After you arrive at that train station, you will have to get on the Roca train that will take you directly to Plaza Constitución. What you need to know about this place is that it is the only means of rail transport available in this area to take you to the city centre.

Interesting details

  • Journeytime: Approximately one hour.
  • Price: Around €6 to get from the airport to the city centre.
  • Advantages of using this method: The advantage of using the train is that you can connect more with the city's residents, while getting to know the city like a local.
  • How to book this transport: You don't need to book, just buy a ticket when you arrive at the train station.

Bus colectivo, the cheapest option

In Argentina, colectivos are public buses and are the cheapest means of transport. It is not a recommended option to move around the city of Buenos Aires because they tend to take a long time to get to the centre, they can be full and you won't have much space to carry your things. However, it is an option you might want to consider if you are backpacking.

If you still want to choose this mode of transport, I recommend taking line 8, which is the fastest line and leaves every half hour from Ezeiza to Plaza de Mayo or Congreso. The best thing about this route is the price, which is usually around 0.85 €.

The other option to get on these buses is to choose the normal option, which is cheaper. It can take almost three hours to get to the centre of Buenos Aires, but you won't pay more than 0,40 €.

Details of interest

  • Duration of the trip: It will take you between one and three hours to get to your destination depending on the bus you choose.
  • Price: Regardless of which bus you choose, you will have to pay between €0.40 and €1 per ticket.
  • Advantages of using this method: It allows you to get to know the city like a local and live the urban experiences of the city of Buenos Aires.
  • How to book this transport: You don't need a reservation to use this transport, but when you get on, you will pay the required fare and arrive at your destination.
  • Booked if... You are travelling as a backpacker and you don't have enough money to pay for a taxi, remis or other similar, more exclusive service.
