Step by Step

If you have an adventurous spirit, sign up for this 2-day trip to the Zagora desert from Marrakech, 7 hours away. The tour includes various activities such as a camel ride, camping in a Berber settlement or the chance to see the sights of Morocco's Atlas Mountains.

An expert guide will accompany you at all times and provide you with interesting facts about the desert. You will also be provided with transport to and from the hotel, breakfast, dinner and accommodation. You will visit the city of Ait Ben Haddou and the beautiful Ouarzazate. The groups participating in the excursion will be around 15 people in order to optimise the experience.

Instead of dunes, your journey through the Zagora desert will take you through breathtaking mountain scenery and panoramic views of the Atlas Mountains of Morocco, a mountain range that runs through the whole of northwest Africa. You'll come across several villages where you'll see local Berber handicrafts and valleys of palm groves everywhere.

One of the most striking locations in Zagora is the oldest kasbah in southeastern Morocco,Ait Ben Haddou. You'll probably recognise it, as it was a filming location for blockbuster movies and series such as Gladiator and Game of Thrones. You'll also stop in the city of Ouarzazate, also known as the 'Hollywood of Africa', as there are several film studios here.

This experience immerses you in the real, everyday life of one of Morocco's most important deserts. Here you will see some of the most beautiful sunsets, as well as try a night's sleep in the desert under a star-studded sky.

    Dans l’ensemble, l’excursion a été très bien. Notre chauffeur Ibrahim a été au top avec ses conseils et les infos qu’il a pu nous donner tout au long du voyage. Arrivées au bivouac, Mohammed, notre guide berbère a été génial. Il nous a même appris du berbère. La balade en dromadaire a duré un peu plus d’une heure. Nous avons pu assister au coucher du soleil. Les points négatifs résident dans l’organisation et le choix des restaurants. Aucunes informations sur les affaires avec nous (nous nous sommes retrouvées à court d’eau et avions oublié les serviettes de douche). De plus, les restaurants sont imposés à l’aller et au retour sans autre possibilité de choisir. Les prix sont plus élevés qu’à Marrakech pour des portions minimes et une qualité moyenne (120/150 dirham par repas).

    Tout d’abord, nous n’avons pas eu de guide durant le voyage comme le stipule la description du séjour sur le site. Nous n’avons pas visité la ville de Ouarzazate comme le stipule la description du séjour, le chauffeur, en plus d’être impoli (pas bonjour, pas au revoir), nous a menti en nous disant que les studios de Ouarzazate étaient fermés et nous a emmené dans le musée du cinéma où nous ne voulions pas aller. Le chauffeur nous a laissé à peine 25 minutes sur place le temps qu’il aille chercher d’autres touristes. Le chauffeur nous a garantie de s’arrêter au studio de Ouarzazate au retour, bien sûr c’était faux. Il n’a pas voulu nous ramener le lendemain matin, il voulait nous faire monter dans un autre bus qui faisait le retour direct pour Marrakech. Au final, il nous a ramener jusqu’à Ouarzazate et nous a laissé seule dans la ville. Il n’a pas non plus ramené les autres touristes à leur domicile comme prévu et ils ont dû payer un taxi. Nous avons essayé de joindre hello tickets par téléphone où on nous a dit “pas de problème on vous rappelle” et nous n’avons jamais été rappelé, c’est une honte de laisser en détresse deux touristes (femmes)dans une ville du désert. Nous allons tout faire pour avoir un dédommagement. Nous avons du à nos frais prendre le bus pour retourner sur Marrakech. La nuit dans le désert s’est bien passé, c’est le seul point positif du séjour. Je ne recommande absolument pas cette excursion qui n’est qu’un tissu de mensonge.
